100th Anniversary Committee

March 1 - December 30

You may recall that in 2022, we remembered the tornado of 1922 that blew through Amityville and took down our church. Well, our current house of worship was officially dedicated in May of 1925.
Throughout this year, we will be celebrating! We will learn about the leaders who rebuilt the church, the community who worked together to pay for it, and the generations of God's people who have called this church home for the past 100 years.
We have started an Anniversary Committee to plan special activities. If you would like to join the committee or help with one or more of the events, please let me know. Watch for announcements about these celebrations and join in the fun!

First announcement: Did you or a family member get married in St. Paul's? Do you have that classic wedding picture in front of our beautiful altar? Or perhaps coming down the narthex steps that have just been refurbished? Please share a copy with us!
We would love to create a display and a historic tribute to the ceremonies that have taken place in the past 100 years. Send digital copies or even just a cell phone picture of the picture to history@stpaulsuccamity.org. Drop off photocopies at the office or give to Marianne Reinert.

Second announcement: Do you have any St. Paul's historic records or documents? Randy just found a church yearbook type pamphlet from 1924! We can't wait to share it with you all. Maybe you have something cool tucked away?

Randy has ways of copying even the most fragile documents with no damage. Winnie Hayik has a wonderful collection of St. Paul's history that she protects and documents for us but she would love to add more treasures.

Do you have special stories that have been passed down by generations? Now is the time to share!

Please contact Randy, Winnie or Marianne Reinert to share your treasures!
